Karnataka University conducts these examinations which are known as Karnataka common entrance test 2016. These examinations are conducted at under graduate level and the candidates here are selected according to their rank and score card. Once the examinations are conducted students are called for counselling and seat allotment is done on the basis of their performance in KCET 2016. There is a specific exam pattern which every student is supposed to follow. Papers are composed from subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Maximum score for each paper is 60, therefore the total marks in the examination is 180. There is no negative mark for wrongly answered questions or multiply answered questions. The examination is mainly for 80 minutes duration and each correct question will get 1 mark.

There is certain eligibility criterion for the candidate. It is required for candidate to pass class 12th or equivalent examination, as recognized by state or central education board. There are compulsory subjects in the qualification examination include Mathematics and Physics. There are optional subjects who include any of the following such as Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science/ Electronics/ Biology. It is necessary for the students to have English as subject of language. The minimum aggregate percentage required in the qualifying examination is 45%.
KCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Another significant aspect is that of application form. Candidates can buy the application form through school/colleges of Karnataka. Students are supposed to fill the form and apply left hand thumb impression on the form without smudging. Adding on, enter all the particulars using black or blue ball pen only. And once the procedure is completed students can submit the form back to the school or college from the particular form has been purchased. There is a particular deadline when it comes to submitting this form and it is extremely important for the students to abide by this.  The fee for this application form is Rs 650 and it can be paid via cash or net banking.

Counselling for these is done once the results are announced. Counselling will be held in two rounds and only those candidates can participate in it who has qualified the KCET 2016. Candidates can fill in their respective preferences, courses, colleges, and seats.     The Results for the KCET 2016 will be published on May 27, 2016
    Students who secure a minimum of 45% in their 10+2 core subjects in aggregate (40% for SC/ST) will feature in the merit list rankings.
    Students must meet the above eligibility criteria irrespective of the Karnataka CET 2016 scores.

Karnataka CET 2016 Merit Ranking:

The merit ranking is determined on the basis of the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in  KCET 2016.

    In case two or more candidates have equal marks:
    Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher than the others.
    For Candidates with equal marks in Mathematics, the interse merit shall be determined on the basis of the marks obtained in Physics.
    In case the marks in Physics are same, the interse merit shall be decided on the basis of the marks of the said subjects in the qualifying exam (Class XI).
